Purbeck households urged to recycle old Yellow Pages - 6 November 2001
Householders across Purbeck District are being urged to participate in a Yellow Pages recycling campaign, which starts when the new Yellow Pages directory - sporting fluffy chicks on the front cover - is delivered across the area. The campaign aims to collect thousands of old Yellow Pages - which show fish on the front cover - and recycle them into animal bedding, via the council’s green box kerbside scheme.
Susan Pitt, a recycling officer with Purbeck Dstrict Council said: “It has never been easier to recycle your old Yellow Pages. Simply place them in your green kerbside box or take them to the civic amenity sites at Lodmoor and Eastern Lane.”
Adam Billiald, co-ordinator of The Directory Recycling Scheme, added: “Supporting local authorities to recycle directories is a major strategy for Yellow Pages in promoting environment-friendly activities. We are pleased to be supporting Bournemouth council – I’m sure this year’s campaign will be very successful.”
