Yell Goes Yellower and Quicker - 16 November 1998

A new look Yell web site has been launched today by Yellow Pages incorporating more of the company’s eye-catching colour and using new technology which makes the site speedier and more user-friendly.

The web site has been re-designed in-house by Yellow Pages’ New Media Services to enhance the branding within Yell so the site is more clearly the web site from Yellow Pages. The re-design has also improved the speed of the site, the navigation and search facilities.

The Netgravity ad serving software package is another benefit on the site which has been introduced to give advertisers more flexibility when buying ad space.

Barbara Newman, Senior Marketing Manager for New Media Services said: "Yell’s new look is intended to make it more obvious Yell is from Yellow Pages and to show that what it provides is not just Yellow Pages information but also includes shopping and entertainment sections. Also, the site will be easier to use as the differentiation between Yellow Pages and UK web site information will be clearer."

A raft of new content is to be added by Yell over the next few months. The first of these is travel which leverages Yell’s recent venture with airline software house FSS. Further additions will be added to the site during the next few months.

Yellow Pages is asking for feedback from users about the new site in order to evaluate its performance as the company says it is constantly reviewing its services in line with user’s needs.
