Yell.com Links Up With LineOne - 22 September 2000

Yell.com, the consumer and business destination site from the Yellow Pages Group, today announced that it has entered into a sponsorship deal with internet portal and access provider, LineOne. Through the deal, a Yell.com link will feature on the results page of LineOne’s web search, taking users directly though to the Yell.com home page.

Eddie Cheng, new media services director, Yell.com, said: "This sponsorship continues our strategy of substantially broadening our distribution reach, through partnering leading internet brands and properties. As well as creating additional brand awareness for Yell.com, it will provide LineOne users with the benefits of Yell.com’s fast, and relevant ‘find’ service."

A spokesperson for LineOne said "With Yell.com we add a great name with a great reputation among consumers and businesses. Adding a link to the Yell.com home page provides real value to our users who demand fast and relevant search results."

Yell.com is now available over the internet, mobile phones and digital television. The portal has extended its internet presence through partnerships with MSN, excite, handbag.com, BT Internet & BT Timesmart. Its mobile partnerships include BT Internet, Genie from BT Cellnet and the Mviva portal from Carphone Warehouse. Digital televison partnerships include Sky TV’s Open, Telewest and ONdigital’s new ONnet service.
