Just the Ticket to a Healthier Lifestyle - 25 May 2001

Everyone heading to the seaside over the holidays is invited to pop along to the seafront and pick up some top tips for a healthier lifestyle when the Marie Curie/Yellow Pages Healthier Lifestyle Roadshow comes to the West Coast for a week. You can't miss it: just look out for the bright blue double-decker Daffodil Bus at the seafront in Morecambe (Friday 25 May), Fleetwood (Saturday 26th), Blackpool (Sunday 27th), Southport (Tuesday 29th), Rhyl (Thursday 31st) and Llandudno (Friday 1 June).

Between 11:00am and 3:00pm, Marie Curie Nurses will be on hand to carry out simple checks on height, weight and blood pressure and offer advice about adopting a healthier lifestyle. They will also be inviting people to complete a health survey, for which there are some instant spot prizes and a chance to enter a healthy hampers prize draw.

Family entertainment will be provided by the Natural Theatre Company, whose hilarious seaside characters will entertain both young and old alike, while challenging some of our notions about what is good for us.

"We're delighted to be working with Yellow Pages, part of Yell, on these innovative roadshows," says Cindi Berker, Marie Curie Cancer Care. "They are a really entertaining way to show people how a healthier lifestyle can help reduce some of the risks of developing cancer."
