Yellow Book Enters $120 Million Las Vegas Market - 28 May 2004
Yellow Book USA, the oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher in America, announced that it is entering the $120 million Las Vegas yellow pages advertising market, ending the monopoly held by the phone company.
"Las Vegas, still monopolized by one yellow pages company, is one of just a few large US cities without direct head to head competition from a major publisher. Today is independence day for area businesses that have been held captive by soaring yellow pages advertising rates," said Jerry Kingkade, Regional Vice President of Yellow Book USA’s Southwestern region.
Kingkade added, "Many local businesses that have been 'priced out' of the R.H. Donnelley owned Sprint directory will find they can afford to advertise with Yellow Book. Consumers will be presented with new buying choices when using Yellow Book. Businesses will get a great response from Yellow Book ads without the monopolistic high rates. Competition is good! Yellow Book provides a win-win for both constituents."
"Yellow Book's near national coverage has brought much needed competition to other markets such as Manhattan, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, Baltimore, Washington, Birmingham, Ft Lauderdale, Atlantic City and now, Las Vegas," said Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA.
Businesses in neighboring states are already experiencing the many benefits of advertising with Yellow Book.
"Yellow Book call counts are out pulling SBC’s and are costing us less than one third of our SBC ads. Now that’s value." - K. Taylor-Smith, Precision Door Service, San Diego Metro Yellow Book
"We have received 802 calls over a 30-day period from our Yellow Book advertising; I am very pleased with the results." – J. Nix, Geico Insurance, Phoenix, AZ Greater West Valley Yellow Book
"Yellow Book has not only proved a wise investment for me, but one that makes me feel as if there is an alternative for the business owner who desires results at a reasonable cost." - Dr. D. Marr, Southwest Sports Clinic, Albuquerque, NM Yellow Book
"Our number one goal – our overarching corporate mission – is to provide a superior directory to the end-user. We know that consumer usage translates into advertisers’ loyalty to Yellow Book," added Walsh.
The New Greater Las Vegas Yellow Book will include comprehensive business pages, community and government information, area maps, local restaurant menus, money-saving coupons, and larger easy-to-read print.
