Paradise Yellow Pages and Yellow Book join forces in Hawaii - 8 February 2007

Yellow Book USA, the nation’s oldest and largest independent yellow pages provider, announced today that it has acquired The Paradise Yellow Pages from Paradise Media Group, LLC to deliver state-of-the-art print and Internet yellow pages in Hawaii.

Paradise Media Group publishes The Paradise Yellow Pages, which has offered low advertising rates and special features to businesses on the Hawaiian Islands since May, 2000. The company was established with the interests of local businesses, users and the community in mind. Yellow Book operates similarly, but brings over 75 years of yellow pages experience and a national reputation for delivering user friendly directories and low cost leads to businesses.

David Akina, founder of Paradise Yellow Pages, says that joining Yellow Book is a strategic decision that will benefit users, customers and employees. “I have been watching Yellow Book’s growth and success for years, and admire the organization that its CEO, Joe Walsh, has built. I am pleased that Paradise Yellow Pages will be working with a company that shares the same values,” said Akina.

Yellow Book has no plans for immediate change at Paradise Yellow Pages. It will combine the “best practices” of both companies to best serve consumers and advertisers. Akina and the employees of Paradise Pages will stay on with the business.

This purchase will provide Yellow Book the opportunity to add Hawaii to the list of 46 other states that the company already serves. Approximately 785,000 directories are expected to be circulated throughout Hawaii in 2007 with specific editions for the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Hawaii.

"We look forward to working with Paradise Yellow Pages to serve the people and businesses of Hawaii," said Joe Walsh, Yellow Book’s CEO. "We will continue the positive momentum that Paradise has begun by developing win-win relationships with their advertisers and consumers."
