Yellow Pages and Marie Curie Cancer Care Forge A Blooming Good Partnership - 7 February 2000
The partnership between Yellow Pages and Marie Curie Cancer Care will continue to bloom this year as Yellow Pages has again pledged support for Daffodil Day and the Marie Curie Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.Yellow Pages is supporting Daffodil Day (March 18) by funding 60,000 collection trays to be used in England, Scotland and Wales during the annual Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal which runs from February to March. The new-look collection trays feature joint branding and incorporate information cards giving details about the charity and forthcoming fundraising events.
Yellow Pages is also sponsoring the charity’s ‘Sun Awareness Garden’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May. Patrick McCann, who won a silver-gilt for the charity and sponsor in 1999, has again been chosen to design this year’s garden.
"Yellow Pages is delighted to be supporting Daffodil Day and the Marie Curie Garden at Chelsea 2000," said Nigel Marson, Marketing Communications Controller, Yellow Pages. "Over the past year, we’ve developed our understanding of each other’s brand values and the relationship between Yellow Pages and Marie Curie is going from strength to strength."
Last year 3 million people bought daffodils from the boxes and 170,000 people visited the Chelsea Flower Show. With the costs covered by Yellow Pages, all money raised from these initiatives goes directly to the nationwide charity which combines cancer care with research.
Cindi Berker-Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising, Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: "Yellow Pages is a valued partner and through its continued support the charity can reach many more people and raise awareness about the Marie Curie Nursing Service, Marie Curie Centres and its Research Institute."
