Yellow Pages named as Business Superbrand - 23 November 2000
Yellow Pages has been awarded business Superbrand status to add to its established position as a consumer Superbrand, and will be featured in the world’s first book dedicated to business to business branding.Voted by an independent Council made up of eminent figures from the world of business, design, marketing and PR, Yellow Pages was one of only 53 companies recognised from a shortlist of 500, at the Business Superbrands Tribute Event this week.
The Superbrands organisation is the independent authority and arbiter of branding - it exists to promote the discipline of branding and to pay tribute to exceptional brands. Having traditionally focussed primarily on consumer brands, it has now recognised the crucial role of branding within the business to business sector.
Marcel Knobil, Chairperson for Superbrands said, "A business Superbrand has established the finest reputation in its field. It offers customers significant advantages over its competitors which customers want and recognise."
Other Business Superbrands included American Express, BT, Compaq, Glaxo Wellcome, Merrill Lynch, Nokia, Sony and Visa.
