Yellow Pages picked up three awards at the prestigious Information Management Awards 2000, the premier industry event for recognition of excellence and innovation in business information management, held in London on 23 November. The three awards for outstanding business management solutions were presented to Yellow Pages for its highly successful ‘Yell Insight’ project, which overcame stiff competition from entrants including Andersen Consulting to win the prestigious ‘Premier Project Award,’ plus a Silver Award for Data Warehousing and a commendation in Knowledge Management.
Yell Insight is part of a series of projects developed by Yellow Pages strategic management team to deliver superior business intelligence to strategic, business and functional decision makers in Yellow Pages. Its aim is to combine leading edge datawarehousing and business intelligence portals to deliver information fast.
Steven Peters, Yellow Pages Strategic Information Manager who collected the three awards on behalf of Yellow Pages said, "I thought we had done well to be one of only two organisations nominated in three categories, but things got better as the night progressed.
"Yell Insight isn’t just about technical expertise, it’s about vision and clarity, enabling Yellow Pages to work smarter. This external recognition is testimony to the efforts that have been made over the last two years by the Yell Insight team" he added.
These awards are hot on the heels of a number of accolades for Yellow Pages which was last month named as a Business Superbrand. Yellow Pages was also announced overall winner of the European Best Practice Benchmarking Awards in Paris last month and its internet destination site, Yell.com was announced as winner of Best Business to Consumer Internet Directory at the European Association of Directory Publishers (EADP) Awards in Venice last month.
