Yell.com, the destination site from the Yellow Pages Group, today announced that it has renewed its distribution arrangement with Excite.co.uk. Excite users can search the Yell.com database from Excite.co.uk’s 'Excite Tools' section and also conduct tailored searches within six Excite channels.

Since June 1999, Yell.com has remained Excite’s preferred business directory and a key search component within their site. The extension of the Excite relationship confirms Yell.com as a leading destination site and extends its reach via new channels.

John Condron, CEO, Yell, said: "By renewing our arrangement with Excite and linking with leading internet brands and properties, we are building on our strategy of substantially broadening our distribution reach. As well as creating additional brand awareness for Yell.com, it will provide Excite users with the benefits of Yell.com’s swift and accurate ‘find’ service."

Ian Durndell, senior business development manager, Excite, said: "Yell.com sets the standard for serving buyers and sellers online. As a top 10 UK traffic site, Excite has over 12 million unique home users (MMXI Nov, 2000) and generates over 110 million page impressions (doubleclick Jan, 2000).

Yell.com has expanded its reach via the internet, mobile phones and digital television. Yell.com’s mobile distribution agreements include BT Internet, Genie from BT Cellnet and the Mviva portal from Carphone Warehouse. Digital television agreements include Sky TV’s Open, Telewest and ONdigital’s new ONnet service.

Yell.com will also extend its consumer reach via the launch of its first ever TV advertising campaign. Worth £3.3 million, the campaign will be broadcast from March 1st across ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and major satellite channels including Sky One, Sky Sports and MTV. This will run for five weeks at regular peak viewing times and will feature the strapline; ‘For the easy way to get what you want, just Yell’.
