Yellow Book USA gives targeted local coverage back to Milford County - 30 April 2003

Yellow Book USA, the nation’s oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher, will is preparing to publish a new directory in Milford, Connecticut. Much like its counterpart in The Naugatuck Valley, The Milford Yellow Book will provide the community with comprehensive listings, specifically tailored to meet the needs of county residents. Scheduled delivery date is November 2003.

The new Milford Yellow Book will include comprehensive business yellow pages, business and residential white pages, community and government information, area maps, local restaurant menus and money-saving coupons. More than 32,000 directories will be delivered free to all area residents and businesses.

"Residents and businesses in the town of Milford currently receive the SBC/SNET Greater New Haven directory and the Bridgeport/Stratford/Milford suburban directory," said Joe Walsh, CEO of Yellow Book USA. "Yellow Book is delivering a targeted replacement product for the Milford area, abandoned by SBC/SNET when they rescoped their former Milford book into the Greater New Haven directory. The Milford Yellow Book will provide local residents and merchants with a phone directory much more in keeping with their needs."

Yellow Book is the largest independent yellow page publisher in the United States, providing their services to more states than any other yellow page publisher in the nation. The company prides itself on offering their users a more comprehensive, user-friendly and community focused phone directory than all competitors.

"The Milford Yellow Book will give businesses the competitive advantage needed to succeed in today’s marketplace by allowing them to speak directly to their current and potential customers," added Walsh. "And our affordable advertising rates make it possible for all businesses, large and small, to compete on a level playing-field."

The addition of the Milford Yellow Book will add to Yellow Book’s growing presence in Connecticut. In 2003, Yellow Book will publish new directories in Middletown, Greater Norwich, and Greater New London. Local business owners and consumers in The Naugatuck Valley and in Fairfield County are already experiencing the advantages of advertising in their local Yellow Book phone directories:

"Advertising in the Fairfield County Yellow Book has brought a better return on my investment. My ad in your directory has generated more calls than the ad in the SBC directory." - Mark Carey, Carey & Associates
"My advertising program in the Fairfield County Yellow Book produced over 200 more calls at about ¼ of the cost per call compared to the SBC/SNET directory." - Gloria Paoli, Crawford Overhead Doors

"I have been receiving approximately 20 more calls per week on the special phone I advertised in the Fairfield County Yellow Book." - Mern Palmer-Smith, Double Exposure

"I like Yellow Book because it has the towns and services we use most. The SBC SNET book has too many towns and is too confusing." - J Smith, Derby, CT

"I like Yellow Book because it has both business and residential phone numbers and addresses - it’s not two separate books!" - A.Wynnick, Shelton, CT
Established in l930, Yellow Book USA is the oldest independent yellow pages publisher in the nation. In recent years, Yellow Book has made a number of strategic acquisitions and entered scores of new markets. The 2002 acquisitions of McLeod USA's telephone directory publishing unit and the National Directory Company have extended Yellow Book's presence into 41 states and the District of Columbia, more states than any other U.S. yellow pages publisher.
