Yell Information Portal Wins Top UK Knowledge Management Award - 26 January 2004
Yell, the international directories business, has won a major UK award for the development of a sophisticated web-based resource providing a central point for employees to access key business information and applications.The information portal was developed to further increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Yell business. It has been judged the most innovative and successful project in the Knowledge Management category at the IM2003 Information Management awards.
The awards are the premier industry recognition of excellence and innovation for business information and knowledge management.
In winning the award, Yell beat entries from other leading companies and organisations including Britannia Airways, Deutsche Bank, GlaxoSmithKline, Irish Ferries, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Thomas Cook UK.
Available to all UK employees throughout head office, seven regional offices and up to a 1,000 staff who work remotely, the portal provides fast access to accurate, relevant business and customer information and online applications.

Yell’s latest success follows its winning of the Premier Project Award for the best information management project overall in the IM2000 awards. It won with its development of a Business Intelligence Portal.
