Yellow Book expands into 3 new Connecticut markets - 17 May 2004

Uniondale, NY - Yellow Book USA, the nation’s oldest and largest independent yellow pages publisher, announced today its plan to expand into three new Connecticut markets: New Haven, Meriden/Southington, and New Britain/Bristol. These markets add to Yellow Book’s overwhelmingly successful Connecticut products in Milford, Norwich, New London, Old Saybrook, Clinton/Guilford/Madison, Fairfield County, The Naugatuck Valley and Middletown.

Joe Walsh, President and CEO of Yellow Book USA, explains, “Yellow Book creates user-friendly directories that are specifically designed for each community. Content is custom-tailored to meet the needs of local residents and includes special features and easy-to-read print. With affordable rates, businesses who advertise in Yellow Book get a strong return on their advertising investment.”

Unlike its competitors in Connecticut, Yellow Book is providing targeted local coverage that consumers and businesses prefer. Consumers also prefer Yellow Book’s many user-friendly features, including comprehensive business yellow pages, business and residential white pages, community and government information, local area maps, restaurant menus and money-saving coupons.

Connecticut businesses have been extremely pleased with the results Yellow Book delivers at about half of the cost of phone company books. Through call tracking conducted by DCCI Call Measurement Surveys, unique phone numbers for many Connecticut businesses were placed only in their Yellow Book ads. The results proved that businesses are receiving strong results. Here are just a few examples:

  • Seymour Energy received an average of 127 calls per month from November 2002 through March 2004 as a result of their ads in The Valley Yellow Book;
  • Middlesex Hospital received an average of 95 calls per month from July 2003 through March 2004 as a result of their ads in the Greater Middletown Yellow Book;
  • Linder Dodge & Jeep received 88 calls per month from January 2004 through March 2004 as a result of their ads in the newly published Greater New London and Norwich Yellow Books;
  • Bella Napoli Pizza received an average of 244 calls per month from December 2003 through March 2004 as a result of their ads in the newly published Milford Yellow Book.
