‘Real life’ advertisers to star in Yellow Pages and 118 24 7 network film sponsorship - 16 May 2007
Kennel owners from Norwich, Taxi Drivers from Sunderland and Beauticians from Hull & East Riding are just a few of the groups of enterprising people set to become national TV stars as part of a new Yellow Pages and 118 24 7 sponsorship of network films on Channel 4, which launches this weekend. The network film deal is one of the most prestigious premium TV sponsorships available and forms part of Yellow Pages ‘people behind the numbersTM’ campaign which celebrates the enterprising people whose skills, ingenuity and passion make up businesses across the UK.
The ‘real life’ advertisers were chosen by Yellow Pages to play a starring role in a series of 10 second ads which will introduce selected network films across Channel 4, E4, More 4, Film4, online and Movie Rush between the commercial breaks.
Filmed last month at various locations across the country, each set of ads shows the advertisers gathered together to introduce the evening’s film to viewers and then individually tell the nation about their favourite movies and Hollywood stars during subsequent breaks.
Among the stars appearing in the ads is boarding kennel owner Sally Atherall from The Orchard Boarding Kennels in Diss, Norfolk. Sally appears with Hattie, her seven year old Griffon Bruxellois, who she describes in the ads as a ‘diva’ who would like to be famous. Sally and Hattie are joined in the ads by father and daughter team Richard and Julie Henson with their dog Rogue, and Vincent Quattrucci with Buster.
Commenting on her part in the new campaign, Sally Atherall said: “I’m really excited to be appearing in the new Yellow Pages adverts – and so is Hattie. We both enjoyed the filming immensely and can’t wait for the ads to air. All my friends enjoy sitting down in front of a good film so they’re bound to see me sooner or later. Hattie and I feel like real movie stars!”
Helen Stevenson, chief marketing officer of Yell UK, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to offer our advertisers this unique opportunity to participate in our sponsorship. I am sure that anyone watching the ads will agree that there is a wealth of amazing personalities and characters within Yellow Pages and they truly embody the enterprising nature of businesses across the UK.”
Anyone wanting to catch the ads should tune in to Channel 4 Films throughout the summer. Visit www.peoplebehindthenumbers.com for more information on the campaign.
