Advertising Transcript - 'Niece'
In this ad we see James excitedly un-packing a new computer from lots of boxes. He talks to himself as he assembles it.
JAMES: The IT man cometh. Seek out new horizons. Cheese shops in Cheshire, pianos in Peterborough. (He looks thoughtful for a moment.) And begin.
He sits down and taps away at the keyboard, but nothing happens. He continues but gets more frustrated, occasionally thumping the side of the screen.
JAMES: Arrrrgh
His niece, (the girl from the hair cut ad) puts her head around the door.
NIECE: Can I help Uncle James?
JAMES: Grown up stuff... Far too complicated. You wouldn’t understand...
At this, she reaches over and presses one key on the keyboard.
SFX: Computer noises.
As the computer springs to life she types more. James’ eyes widen. On screen we see the Yell.com window, she has typed “COMPUTER TRAINING” in the Search box.
We see the name GUILDFORD being typed in the area / location box.
A window pops up and displays a guide map of the search results.
With each successive click James gets more indignant.
NIECE: See, simple.
He snaps at her:
JAMES: Clear off, unless you want another haircut…
The screen changes to show the walking fingers device for yell.com
We hear a voice say “Whatever you want, just Yell.”
