Advertising Transcript - 'Elves'
The advert runs for 10 seconds and starts by showing a close up of James Nesbitt in the hall of a house during a party. The thump of party music can be heard in the background. He is dressed as an elf, complete with pointy ears and tights, and we see him fiddle with the tights uncomfortably. We see him dial a number into his mobile and hear him say the number as he dials:
118 24 7
There is an animated number on the screen that pops up as he reads the number.
We hear him say in a forlorn voice:
I need a taxi please
He turns round and we are shown what he can see – a group of other party goers of various shapes and sizes all dressed up as Elvis.
James snaps at them:
My invite definitely said elves, OK.
All the while that the advert is playing there is white text on screen which says ‘calls cost 40p per minute for all directory enquiries from most land lines, Yell Ltd, Reading, RG1 7PT’.
